Country Music - Alan Jackson

A true classic in country music history, Alan Jackson can be summed up in one word, "timeless". His rich voice smoothly sings about life, written in a unique and memorable manner, making Jackson one of the most revered artists and songwriters by fans and fellow musicians. Raised in a big family in Newnan, Georgia, Jackson was born on October 17, 1958, and grew up working on cars, and playing music. Jackson and his wife, former high-school sweetheart, Denise, moved to Nashville, where the mega-star still remembers and lives his Georgia life. The first country artist signed to Artista Records, the title track to his debut album "Here in the Real World" was his first hit single, followed by three more No. 1's in 1991, including "Don't Rock the Jukebox". He continued to climb the charts through the early 90's, spending four weeks at the top of the charts with "Chattahoochee", which won the CMA Single of the Year Award in 1003, and Song of the Year in '94. Named CMA Entertainer of the Year in 1995, Jackson won his first Grammy for best country song in 2002, with "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning". Over his career he has had over 30 number one hits, and won countless major awards, including 2003 Vocal Event of the Year for "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere" with Jimmy Buffett.
