Blue County - Country Music
Aaron Benward and Scott Reeves, who make up the duo Blue County, both grew up with music. Benward, born in Auburn, Indiana, moved to Nashville where his father Jeffrey, a professional gospel singer, performed. Occasionally Aaron shared the stage with his dad, eventually dropping out of his music industry classes at Belmont University to tour and sing with his father.
Reeves musical beginnings were the result of his Arkansas upbringing, and Glen Campbell, who happened to be a family friend. Scott's family moved to Los Angeles when his father got a position with the Beverly Hills Police Department. Reeves took up acting as well as music, and picked up the role of Ryan McNeil on The Young & the Restless. The two singers met at Tamara Walker's video shoot for "Didn't We Love." Fast becoming good friends, they explored a variety of ideas they could do together from writing to acting.
Music ultimately became their final decision, and it seemed only natural. They click on stage and produce a sound similar to the Everly Brothers. After an audition with Doug Johnson, A & R director for Asylum, Blue County got their first recording contract. Their debut album, appropriately titled Blue County, came out in 1994, with the hit single "Good Little Girls".
