Country Music - Dan Seals
Dan Seals was born in 1948 in McCamey, Texas. He comes from a long line of musicians. Dan and his brother, Jim (of Seals and Crofts) played in the Seals Family Band with their parents. After his parents divorced, he moved to Dallas with his mother and played in garage bands. During that time, he met John Ford Coley, and they formed the pop/rock duo England Dan and John Ford Coley, which scored several hits throughout the 70's, including their biggest "I'd Really Love to See You Tonight". Seals kept the name England Dan when he went solo in 1981. Changing his style to country and his performing name back to Dan Seals, he began charting with "The Wild Side of Me" and "My Baby's Got Good Timing" in the mid 80's. His first number one hit as a duo with Marie Osmond, "Meet Me in Montana", the first of nine consecutive chart-topping hits. Meet Me in Montana was voted Vocal Duo of 1986 by the Country Music Association. That year he also held the CMA Single of the Year award. As country music changed in the late 80's and early 90's, Seals sales declined, although he has continued to attract an audience at concert performances.
