Emerson Drive - Country Music
Country group Emerson Drive began when Canadians Brad Mates (vocals), and Pat Allingham (bass) quickly formed a group to enter a high school talent contest. After the contest, they continued playing together and later joined keyboard and guitarist Dale Wallace, fiddler David Pichette, drummer Mike Melancon, and Danick Dupelle on the guitar. Naming themselves Emerson Drive, after the Emerson Trail, the young group debuted in 2002 on the DreamWorks Nashville label with "I Should be Sleeping" and "Fall Into Me", which broke into the Top Five.
The group of talented musicians immediately captured the attention of fans and the country music industry, winning the 2003 Academy of Country Music Top New Vocal Group award. They consider themselves part of a whole; they are a family along with their crew, and wouldn't have it any other way. Spending most of their time on the road performing shows, and traveling back and forth to Nashville and Chicago, where they record, the group fondly states that their bus is their home.
Among their awards are Billboard's #1 Top Country Artist of the Year (2002) and CCMA Group of the Year for two consecutive years. Their sophomore album, What If?, brought Emerson Drive even more success with the smash hit, "You're Like Coming Home".
