Country Music - Hal Ketchum
Hal Ketchum was playing the drums in his home in the Adirondack Mountains in New York when he joined a rhythm and blues trio. He traveled to Gruene Hall at the age of 17, playing there throughout the early 80's, leaving in 1986 for Nashville to pursue a songwriting career. Ketchum released his first CD, Threadbare Alibis, in 1989, leading to a contract with Curb Records. In 1991, his musical career was launched with the hit "Small Town Saturday Night". His third album, Sure Love, brought the number two single "Heart are Gonna Roll". In 1994, Ketchum was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry. With 15 top ten hits, he has also received recognition from BMI as a songwriter. His songs have been recorded by industry greats such as Trisha Yearwood and Neil Diamond. A singer, songwriter, and producer, Ketchum's artistic talents are not limited to music. He's an avid painter, holding exhibits, and illustrating books. Hal illustrated a children's book written by his wife, Gina. Gina has also joined her husband in co-writing songs. Ketchum remains loyal to his family, friends, and music, giving the fans what they want to hear.
