Jolie Edwards - Country Music
Without the urging of her husband, mother, and her mother's friend, Joliet Edwards might still be unknown. Raised in Omaha, Nebraska, Jolie loved to sing, but only behind her closed bedroom door. One day, a friend of her mother's begged her to sing a tune. Jolie complied, but only after retreating to her bedroom. When she opened the door, the two women were crying. That's when Jolie realized she had a talent.
Jolie played in bands in high school, eventually marrying Marty Edwards and having a child. It was Marty who convinced her to pursue a career as a country music star, taking her and her demos to Nashville every month. In 1999, a deal was signed with DreamWorks.
Stressing that she is not a one person show, Jolie prides herself on the strong relationship with her band, The Wanted, thus named because they are the brothers she always wanted. Her debut album was released in 2001, entitled Jolie and the Wanted. Livin' Proof, her sophomore CD, was released in 2004.
Edwards has performed across the globe for the armed services, and holds a concert in Papillion, Nebraska, every year to raise money for St. Jude's Children's Hospital. She also enjoys hunting.
