Linda Davis - Country Music
Linda Davis was a six year old child in Texas when she started singing on the radio. She took her show to Nashville in 1982, and became the ÔLinda' half of the Skip and Linda duo. After a few minor hits, Davis worked as a commercial jingle singer before becoming a backup vocalist for her mentor Reba McEntire.
After a couple album releases which failed to provide Davis with a hit single, she teamed up with Reba in the 1993 Grammy winning duet "Does He Love You". The pair also won County Music Association's Vocal Event of the Year award in 1994. The song's success landed Linda a development deal with Artista.
Her next album Shoot for the Moon had a style similar to McEntire's and broke into the Top 30, as did her 1996 Some Things are Meant to Be, which reflected more of a country pop style. Along with John Berry, Linda co-hosted the 2000 Christian Country Music Awards in Nashville. Davis returned to tour with her friend, Reba McEntire, on her 2004 tour. As stated by Reba, "She is one of my dearest friends and one of the best singers I have ever heard."
