Mandy Barnett - Country Music
Mandy Barnett knows exactly who she is and what she wants. At the age of ten, Mandy won the title of Best Country Act contest at Dollywood and has played for her fans anywhere she can since that time. She was invited to perform at the Grand Ole Opry at the age of 12 for a tribute to Ernest Tubb. Born Amanda Carol Barnett on September 28, 1975, in Crossville, Tennessee, her singing eventually moved her to Nashville.
With strong influences of Brenda Lee and Patsy Cline, it's not surprising that this former Homecoming Queen landed the role of Patsy Cline in bills by starring in "Always...Patsy Cline" at the Ryman Auditorium. For two years Mandy Barnett assumed the role of Patsy Cline to pay the bills. She likens herself to Patsy when she said, "I realized how important it is to be yourself, especially musically. That's what Patsy was, that's what made her music so special - and that's what she respected the most in others."
Her debut album, "I've Got a Right to Cry" received recognition by the Detroit News and Free Press, who described Mandy Barnett as "one of those instantly timeless voices, the sort of rich, spine-tingling sound that's so sure of itself, you can't help but let it mesmerize you".
