Mark Collie - Country Music

Mark Collie grew up playing the guitar and piano in Waynesboro, Tennessee. He formed his own band at the young age of 12. While in high school, he did a brief stint as a DJ on a local radio station, and played with several bands after graduation. Seeking a career in songwriting, Mark moved to Nashville in 1982. He was unsuccessful in that endeavor, so he began performing his songs at a local club.

In 1989, he capture the attention of MCA, and his debut album, Hardin County Line, was released in 1990. Only one single from the album managed to break into the Top 20. His second album, Born and Raised in Black and White, was only moderately successful, lacking in his usual rockabilly style. Collie returned to rowdier, honky tonk songs in his 1993 album, which gave him two Top Ten hits, "Even the Man in the Moon is Cryin'" and "Born to Love You".

Success continued for Collie with the 1994 Unleashed album, spawning the hit "Hard Lovin' Woman". Since that time, he has released several albums, all under different labels, which have failed to produce a major chart topping single.
