Pat Green - Country Music
How does a man who loves Bach and classical music become an award winning country music star? Just ask Pat Green. Born in Waco, Texas, Green grew up watching his father perform in musicals, where he developed a love for music. He began playing the guitar at the age of 18 to "pick up chicks".
After developing his voice, which he describes as "not pretty, but it's real", he started playing in clubs and released his first record in 1995. Green doesn't know quite when his popularity grew, but he began to independently sell an astounding number of records and performed in front of sell out crowds, including Billy Bobs. Capturing the attention of Nashville, he was signed by Republic/Universal and his first major label album, Three Days, was released in 2001.
His second album, Wave on Wave, debuted at No.2 and was certified gold. A proficient songwriter, Green writes about his feelings, particularly love, introducing interesting characters into the emotions. His 2004 CD, Lucky Ones, contains the hits "Don't Break My Heart Again" and "Baby Doll" which he wrote. Pat Green's philosophy is to live a full life, and whatever you do, have fun and do it with passion.
