Paul Brandt - Country Music
Paul Brandt made Canadian history as the most awarded Male country artist. Born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, on July 21, 1972, Paul was one of the few who artists who didn't go to Nashville seeking a recording contract. On the contrary, Nashville came to him by calling him and asking if he was interested in a record deal.
Success came easy for Brandt at the beginning. His first album "Calm Before The Storm" in 1996 brought him the distinction of being named Billboard Magazine's Best Selling New Male Artist, introducing two hits 'My Heart Has A History' (number five on the charts) and the number one single 'I Do'. After such great success, things began to spiral downward. Brandt was having difficulty with his label, and was faced with personal doubts and stress.
Forming, his own label, Brand-Tom Records, Paul recorded "Small Towns and Big Dreams", which was named CCMA Album of the Year in 2002. Married to wife, Elizabeth (Liz), he gives her credit for his successes, saying that Liz is the strength and encouragement that has gotten him through the tough years. Brandt has found a direction for his music, using his songs to support Christianity, and many charitable causes.
