Rodney Carrington - Country Music
Does country music and stand up comedy go together? Rodney Carrington and his fans sure think they do. A shy boy in Longview, Texas, Carrington became involved in theater in junior college. He didn't find comedy until he jumped on stage during open mic night at a comedy club, and laid the foundation for his career.
His fan base steadily grew, and he was soon making regular appears on radio shows such as "John Boy and Billy" and "Bob and Tom". Known for his comedy, he integrated funny, and sometimes bawdy, songs into his act like "Little Things", "Don't Look Now" and "Fred". "Hangin' with Rodney" his debut album was released in 1998. His other albums include "Rodney Carrington: Live" and "Morning Wood", as well as a greatest hits album.
Carrington secured his own television comedy/singing show, while still performing live on the weekends. His performances take him on the road a great deal of the time. As Rodney puts it, the family spends so much time driving to the airport that his kids think he lives there! When he is home in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Rodney spends his time with his wife and three sons.
