Sara Evans - Country Music
Sara Evans grew up in a family of seven children in Missouri. She began singing in a family band when she was just five, and she still involves her family in her music. After her move to Nashville in 1991, Evans met musician Craig Schelse, who she married in 1993. In 1995, Sara captured the attention of RCA, and landed a record deal.
Her 2000 CD release Born to Fly put Sara in the spotlight, followed by the 2003 release Restless. Restless was an outstanding success with smash hits "Backseat of a Greyhound Bus" and "Suds in the Bucket", gleaning Academy of Country Music nominations.
Sara Evans admits she is a woman of contrast, depicting her multi-faceted personality into her songs. She blends small town themes, with an unusual mix of country and pop. The combination works well as shown in the release of Real Fine Place, an album that contains the title track hit as well as "Cheatin'", a song her husband encouraged her to include. Sara's husband and family continue to have a strong influence on her career.
Most of the songs on Real Fine Place were written while she was pregnant, and Sara frequently takes her three children on tour. Her brother, Matt, plays bass in her band; and two sisters as well as her parents have provided backup vocals for many of her recordings.
