Born in Seminole, Texas, on October 10, 1958, Tanya Tucker stirred the music industry with extremely strong vocals; listening to her voice, nobody would have guessed she was just a child. Tucker became a teenage country music star with her first hit "Delta Dawn", followed by stellar songs "What's Your Mama's Name", and the more adult love song "Would You Lay With Me (in a Field of Stone)".

Her career received much publicity when she became romantically involved with country star Glen Campbell, twenty years her senior. They recorded several duets before their relationship ended in rumors of physical abuse. Her album in the late 80's "Girls Like Me" contained four Top 10 hits.

But stardom had taken its toll, and in the late 80's, Tucker signed herself into the Betty Ford clinic due to cocaine abuse and alcoholism. After her release, she was voted Female Vocalist of the Year by the Country Music Association in 1991. Another release in the early 90's spawned several more hits. Tucker has a love for dogs and horses and is a champion rider. She has released several books, and her own reality show, Welcome to Tuckerville.
